what is rmsbl?
A free annual tradition serving youth from under-resourced communities in Washington County, MD and surrounding region.
Founded in 1963, the league is one of the longest-running community sports programs in the region and a cornerstone of summer for local families.
Games are held Sundays at Wheaton Park, in the historical Jonathan Street area in Hagerstown, MD. Drawing 500+ attendees each week for basketball, music, vendors, and community.
Hosted by Beyond the Arc Foundation 501c3.

Our mission is to create access, opportunity, and community through free youth sports programming that develops players, people, and future leaders both on and off the court.

Play
We provide competitive summer basketball opportunities across four divisions: Elementary, Middle School, JV, and Varsity. Washington County players receive overall priority within the league, helping preserve RMSBL’s commitment to serving local youth.

RMSBL coaches help create a positive, competitive, and developmental experience for players while serving as mentors and leaders within the community.
volunteer
Volunteers play a vital role in helping RMSBL create a safe, organized, and impactful experience for players, families, and the community each summer.
intern
Our internships provide hands-on experience in sports media, broadcasting, event operations, coaching, officiating, and sports business through real-world community programming.
